Australia Coral Spawning - 2022

This year's Australia coral spawning team was comprised of Amanda Tinoco, Catherine Henderson, and Phillip Cleves!



The trip began with Amanda and Cat getting to know the local Australian wildlife at Townsville's Billabong Sanctuary.

There were many long nights spent injecting coral zygotes to study gene function. After a whole night of injecting, Cat and Amanda found watching the sunrise on the beach a must!

To recharge after many long days of experimenting, they found that nothing recharges marine biologists like a quick dip in the ocean!

The crew got a good hike and view of Townsville and Magnetic Island while trekking up Castle Hill.

Back at the Australian Institute for Marine Science labs, the crew locked in to do their science!
